The great actor Om Puri is reported to have assaulted his wife Nandita on August 22nd. Puri is wanted by Police after his wife filed a complaint against him at Versova police station, alleging that the actor beat her with a stick and hurled abuse at her.
He was extremely upset with his wife Nandita for making his sexual encounters public in the media to market her biography Unlikely Hero: The Story Of Om Puri. He said that he couldn't forgive her.
Senior inspector Harishchandra Parmane says, "Nandita approached us on Thursday with a complaint against her husband. She told us that Puri assaulted her with a wooden stick. We have filed a case against him." Following the allegation, officers visited the actor's house on Friday (23rd of August) but he was not at his house, and police are now attempting to trace the star through his cell phone records. Inspector adds, "Om Puri is absconding at present. We will arrest him as soon as we trace him."
