Nepal is hosting SAFF championship in Kathmandu between Sep 1-11. Eight different SAARC countries will be taking part. For the same, Nepal National Team has selected 20 players from 25 who attended the training session. From the 25 players, Nirajan Khadka, Bijaya Dhimal, Ananta Tamang, Tek Bdr. Budhathoki and Bijaya Gurung were eliminated. Uprising player Bijaya Gharti of U-16 is added to the team. In addition to him, Anil Gurung, Jumanu Rai, Santosh Sahukhal and Bharat Khawas will be playing in front.
Bhola Silwal, Raju Tamang, Bikram Lala, Jagjit Shrestha, Tanka Basnet and Prakash Budhathoki will be the mid-fielders. In defence, Captain Sagar Thapa, Birah Maharjan, Sabindra Shrestha, Rabin Shrestha, Sandip Rai and Rohit Chand. Goal keepers are Kiran Chemjong, Ritesh Thapa and Bishal Shrestha.
